In the autum following the summer examination session both former students and current students will be notified via email by the Examinations Officer regarding when and how they are to collect their certificates. In the event that the email address provided by a former student is inactive, such students should note that certificates for the June examination series will be available to collect from reception from the end of November in the same year. The examination boards do not specify a date for the release of certificates to schools but ordinarily this occurs before the end of November.
When collecting certificates the following information must be provided by the former student:
- Valid ID
- Candidate number
If the former student wishes to nominate another person to collect the certificates in their place then that person must provide the following information when they come to collect the certificates:
- Valid photography ID of the collector
- The former student's candidate number
- The former student's date of birth
- A contact telephone number for the former student
Certificates must be checked upon receipt for accuracy and then signed for.
Certificates must be collected within 12 months of the school receiving them. After 12 months any unclaimed certificates will be returned to the examination board or destroyed, according to the individual examination board rules. After this time candidates will need to visit the websites of the relevant examination boards for information on how to request replacement documentation. Please note that BSK has no involvement in the replacement process.
The provisional statement of results documents issued in August are destroyed upon receipt of the final certificates in the autumn as at this point they are rendeered invalid.
