Emily Beaton

Assistant Phase Coordinator | Higher Phase

Emily graduated from the University of Windsor in Canada with an Honours degree in English and Drama studies. Following this, she graduated from the University of Western Ontario’s Althouse College with an Honours Bachelor of Education degree. She is currently working on her MBA with the University of Essex.

Emily has enjoyed teaching in classrooms around the world. As a Drama teacher, she travelled through Italy with short-term tenures in schools teaching English through Drama games. In the USA, she worked as Musical Director staging summer productions for accelerated students. In Canada, she thoroughly enjoyed leading senior classes of English, Writer’s Workshop, and Drama, staging The Music Man. In England, she enjoyed two years teaching English in London, as well as developing the Accelerated Reader programmes for the Mayor’s Academies. Alongside her teaching commitments, Emily volunteered with the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Education department and the Globe Theatre. In summer you can find her working with professional and amateur writers in the USA at famed Iowa’s Summer Writing Festival. After moving to Kuwait in 2013, Emily found her home at BSK with the Drama and English teams. Since joining BSK she has also held the role of Head of Scotland House and is now Assistant Phase Coordinator for the Higher Phase.
