Year 8 students visited the Metal & Recycling Company (MRC) as part of the environmental component of the Geography curriculum. It proved to be the ideal location to gain a practical insight into some of the processes involved in recycling waste. During the trip students received a tour of the facility, practised some fieldwork techniques and got to participate in recycling old electrical components. They also enjoyed taking plenty of photographs, which they will use to create their own recycling advertisement. Each Year 6-13 Geography student at BSK must complete some type of fieldwork as part of their studies.
