Mr Nicholas Smith BSc(Hons) PGCE
Assistant Head Teacher (SIMS and Timetable)

Nicholas graduated in Chemistry and Chemical Technology and obtained his PGCE from King’s College London. Having taught in London for a number of years, Nicholas moved to Jordan in 1995. He joined BSK as Chemistry Coordinator in 1997 and has since been Chair of Science, Staff Monitoring Coordinator, Health and Safety Coordinator and Producer of the school show. As AHT, his responsibilities include the school timetable, staff absence cover and administration of the school’s information management system.

Mr John Leonard BSc(Hons) PGCE
Senior Teacher (eLearning)

John graduated with Honours before moving on to Leicester University to complete his PGCE. After teaching in London he moved to Riyadh for two years before moving to The British School of Kuwait. Since that time he has filled a variety of roles and he is the currently Senior Teacher with responsibility for eLearning across the whole school. John’s interests include scuba diving, travel photography, building computers, tinkering with websites and Linux.

Mr Jonathan Storer BEd(Hons)
Senior Teacher (Records and Reports)

Jonathan graduated in Education and obtained his teaching qualification from the University of Exeter. After seven years teaching History and Physical Education in London, he moved to Kuwait in 2002. Jonathan is currently studying for a Masters Degree in Military History. His personal interests include British politics, the role of the Special Operations Executive during World War II and the military emergence of Prussia as a European power during the 19th Century.

Miss Alya Muflihi BSc(Hons) MSc PGCE
Student Performance Coordinator

Alya graduated in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from the Universities of Birmingham and Nottingham respectively, and then returned to Birmingham to obtain her teaching qualification. She taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics in England for five years and then moved to Kuwait in 2006. Before being appointed to her current management role, Alya served as Biology Coordinator, Health and Safety Coordinator and Chair of Science. Her personal interests include reading, languages and playing the oboe.

Mr Thomas Campbell BEc DipEd
Examinations Officer

Thomas graduated in Economics and German from the University of New England in Australia in 1990 and obtained his Diploma of Education in 1992. After seven years teaching in Australia, he moved to the UK to teach at a high school in West Sussex for four years, before moving to Kuwait to take up a teaching position at BSK. As well as teaching Economics and Business Studies, Thomas is the school's Examinations Officer. His personal interests include travel, politics and music.
