Social Studies is taught at BSK from Years 5 to 8, following the programmes of study designed and required by the Ministry of Education. The specified core resources have been enhanced using ICT.
Future generations must value the geographical, historical and cultural environment that they have inherited. We must also equip students with the skills and confidence to participate fully in technological age.
The Social Studies courses allow students to recognise and evaluate a wide range of human achievement and aspirations within the Arab world. A study of social studies promotes understanding of social, economic, political, scientific and technological issues, as well as the interdependence of individuals, groups and nations. Students learn to appreciate a variety of aesthetic, creative and imaginative forms and learn to express themselves through a variety of media: discussion, writing, information technology, pictures and diagrams.
