Science Club

The Science Club aims to give students:

• a chance to use scientific processes, knowledge and understanding in experimental work
• an opportunity to improve analytical thinking skills
• fun hands-on opportunities to get enthused and excited about Science.

The club runs on a weekly basis on Wednesdays after school in one of the Science laboratories and is targeted at students in the Junior and Middle Departments (Years 5-8). The sessions will run throughout the academic year, as follows.

Session 1: Years 5-6 only
Wednesday 05 October 2011 - Wednesday 14 December 2011 (10 weeks)

Session 2: Years 7-8 only
Wednesday 01 February 2012 - Wednesday 11 April 2012 (10 weeks)

Activities aim to be exciting and interactive and have included growing crystals, learning to catch criminals using chromatography, building a tornado in a bottle, making bath salts and various organ dissections.
