Home Primary Rewards and Sanctions Sanctions

Sanctions for Unacceptable Behaviour

Our students appreciate the exceptional education on offer and are careful to follow our Golden Rules, negotiated with students at the beginning of each year, whereby they earn House Points, certificates and praise.

Our staff are careful to practice positive discipline, whereby correct behaviours are affirmed and unacceptable behaviour disconfirmed. Nonetheless on occasions rules are broken, creating the need for a fair and clearly defined procedure should sanctions need to be applied.

Just as each child is unique, so is each disciplinary matter and no set of rules and sanctions can fully cover every possibility. It is important therefore to understand the philosophy of behaviour management in the Lower and Junior Departments and to trust the school.

Some unacceptable actions incur a negative points allocation, as shown below. These values have been chosen to enable the logging of intermediate values if there are clear mitigating circumstances.
