Parents wishing to enquire into registration for their children from Reception to Year 11 may contact the Senior Registrar, in the first instance.
The Senior Registrar will then request some basic documentation, including the personal details page of your child's passport and a copy of their most recent detailed school report. The Senior Registrar is able to advise on movement from a non-British education system.
Enquiries to join Year 12 or 13 for AS/A Level courses are processed in line with the published entry criteria and should be made through the Sixth Form Coordinator, who will require details of performance at the end of Year 10, mock-GCSE/IGCSE for Year 12 and final GCSE/IGCSE and AS unit results for Year 13.
In the event of a registration enquiry for Years 3-13 in which the prospective student is outside Kuwait, the Senior Registrar will ask for the applicant's most recent school report and their passport photograph page to be emailed.
The Senior Registrar will forward this information to the relevant Phase or Department Coordinator to seek provisional approval. If such approval is granted, a place in the Year Group will be reserved, subject to the receipt, within seven days, of a completed registration form and 200 Kuwaiti dinars (KWD) deposit.
If the parent is in Kuwait, an original registration form should be obtained from the Senior Registrar, completed and returned to the Senior Registrar. The 200 Kuwaiti dinars (KWD) deposit should be paid to the Senior Bursar.
If the parent is not in Kuwait, an electronic copy of the completed registration form (download link) should be emailed to the Senior Registrar (email link), and the 200 Kuwaiti dinars (KWD) deposit remitted to the to the school account (IBAN number: KW56NBOK0000000000001005163402).
Upon the prospective student’s arrival in Kuwait, the normal admissions procedure must take place, including an admissions test (CAT or other). In the event that the prospective student does not pass the admissions procedure, a full refund of the KD200 will be made.
For registration enquiries to Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 in which the prospective student is outside Kuwait the above procedure does not apply. Instead, prospective families are asked to contact the Lower Phase Coordinator directly.
Appointments for admissions tests are made by a receptionist and the parent will be informed of a date and time. The admission test costs KD20.
The results of the admissions test are forwarded to the relevant Phase Coordinator (PC) or Department Coordinator (DC). The PC/DC will contact parents with the result. For successful students, an appointment will be made for an interview with the PC/DC. Following a successful outcome to the interview, the PC/DC will accompany parents to the Senior Registrar’s office for the completion of the registration process which involves:
*Parents have THREE working days from completion of the registration form to complete payment of the non-refundable deposit and refundable compulsory charges. If parents do not pay the deposit and charges on time the place cannot be guaranteed.
Early in Term 3, parents will receive notification of the deadline for re-registration which has been agreed with the Ministry of Private Education. This date is always in the first week of April.
BSK guarantees to register students for the next academic year provided the student successfully completes the year and re-registers before the deadline. Should a parent fail to re-register a student before the deadline, BSK cannot guarantee a place. As BSK is Kuwait’s premier school and places are in high demand, we urge parents to re-register early.
Parents are required to visit the school and to meet with the Senior Registrar. During the meeting, parents should update details on their child’s registration form and then visit the Senior Bursar to pay a non-refundable re-registration deposit of KD100, plus refundable compulsory charges for the VLE, textbooks and school photographs, per student.
