Mr Brendan Burns BSc PGCE
Mathematics Coordinator

Brendan graduated with a degree in Mathematics and Philosophy from the University of Manchester. He subsequently went on to gain a PGCE from Liverpool Hope University College. Brendan taught in the UK as a Mathematics teacher for three years. In his spare time Brendan enjoys playing team sports such as football, rugby and squash. He also enjoys travelling and cooking.

Mr Roger Francisco BSc BEd CertT
Assistant Mathematics Coordinator

Roger graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto. Subsequently he went on to obtain his Bachelor of Education from the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada. Before joining BSK, Roger taught in Portugal for nine years. He enjoys playing sports such as football, volleyball and softball.

Miss Rebecca Burns BSc PGCE
Mathematics Teacher

Rebecca graduated with a degree in Mathematics and Education and a PGCE from Liverpool University. She taught on Merseyside for two years before moving to BSK. In her spare time Rebecca is a keen sportswoman who enjoys swimming and playing netball. On the artistic side, Rebecca is keen on painting ceramics.

Mr Stephen Donahue BA(Hons) PGCE
Mathematics Teacher

Stephen gained his degree and PGCE from Exeter University, completing teaching practices in Holsworthy, Devon. Stephen established a 'Dragon Boat' club in Devon and was selected for the Great Britain national team that took part in the World Championships in August 2009.

Mr Ken Park BSc PGCE
Mathematics Teacher

Ken is a graduate of the University of Ulster. After several years of management experience in the motor industry he returned to gain a PGCE. Before coming to The British School of Kuwait, he taught Mathematics and Biology for twelve years in Derry, Northern Ireland. Ken’s interests include amateur dramatics, camping and golf.

Mr Dave Dawson BA(Hons) BEd CertT
Mathematics Teacher

Dave graduated from the University of Western Ontario in Business Administration. He then explored numerous different jobs, including marketing management, pastry chef, financial consultant, bank manager, project manager, internet entrepreneur and ESL teacher. After realising that in all these experiences he most enjoyed teaching others and applying mathematics, he made the decision to obtain his bachelors degree in Secondary Education from the University of Ottawa. Dave has been teaching Mathematics in Kuwait since 2005. Outside of school, he enjoys reading, cooking and running.

Mr Alek Zikic BSc MA QTS
Mathematics Teacher

Alek graduated with a degree in Mathematics from Imperial College London. He subsequently went on to gain his teaching qualification from Canterbury Christchurch University. Before moving to Kuwait, Alek taught in London for three years and completed a Masters part time in Educational Leadership. In his spare time, Alek enjoys reading, cooking, travel and is a keen music fan.
