The aims of the Chess Club are:

to introduce the game of chess to as many new players as possible
to help improve the standard of players
to foster good sportsmanship amongst competitors
to promote an attitude whereby the stronger players are willing to help those less able than themselves.

Chess Club meets four times weekly, according to an agreed rota:

The venue is Room G23, which is the Ceramics Studio between the LRC and Jungle Gym.

The club holds two competitions annually:

Cups and medals are there to be won!

At present, Chess Club is open to students in Years 5-8, as well as older students who were members when they were in these year groups.
