Emma graduated in Marine Chemistry from the University of Wales and initially worked in industry, as an Environmental Chemistry Technician and then as a Chemistry Instrumental Analyst. Deciding to pursue a career in teaching she then completed a Secondary Science teaching qualification at Edge Hill University College. Emma has taught all three scientific disciplines in the UK. She moved to Kuwait in 2008. Emma’s personal interests include travel, outdoor pursuits and horse riding.

Mr Duncan Russell BSc(Hons) PGCEHealth and Safety CoordinatorChemistry and Science Teacher
Duncan graduated from the University of Wales with a Biochemistry degree a long time ago and worked in hospitals for a number of years. He qualified as a teacher and has taught Science, in particular Chemistry, for twenty years in Britain and then in New Zealand and Saudi Arabia. He loves teaching but his hobbies include sailing, diving, tennis and squash.

Mr Nicholas Smith BSc(Hons) PGCEAssistant Head TeacherChemistry and Science Teacher
Nicholas graduated in Chemistry and Chemical Technology and obtained his PGCE from King’s College London. Having taught in London for a number of years, Nicholas moved to Jordan in 1995. He joined BSK as Chemistry Coordinator in 1997 and has since been Chair of Science, Staff Monitoring Coordinator, Health and Safety Coordinator and Producer of the school show. As AHT, his responsibilities include the school timetable, staff absence cover and administration of the school’s information management system.
