To maintain the position of The British School of Kuwait as a centre of excellence it is essential that the students who gain admission meet standards that enable them to gain as much as possible from their learning experiences. It is important for our parents to know that their child will be sitting next to classmates who are equally able, well-behaved and highly motivated.
Parents and students who are considering joining BSK are welcome to tour our Salwa campus. Tours can be arranged by contacting the school reception. When you contact us, we will ask for the age of your child so that a relevant tour is arranged that includes the areas that your child would frequent including classrooms, playgrounds and specialist facilities.
STEP ONE of the actual admissions process for parents of prospective students is to make contact with the relevant Department Coordinator (DC):
Key Stage 1
*It is not possible for students to join Year 11 unless they have completed year one of the appropriate two-year GCSE/IGCSE courses. It is not possible for students to join Year 13 unless they have completed year one (AS) of the appropriate two-year Advanced level courses.
STEP TWO is to sit an entrance test arranged by the DC. For younger students these tests are specially designed by BSK. For older students from Year 4 to Year 11, age-specific Cognitive Ability Testing (CAT) is used. For students considering Year 12 or 13, satisfactory GCSE, IGCSE or AS Level results are required.
STEP THREE for students that have passed STAGE TWO, is an interview with the relevant DC who must be provided with previous school reports.
STEP FOUR for students that have been accepted for entry by the DC is for parents to meet with the Senior Registrar to complete, in full, a school application form, including agreement of the terms and conditions.
STEP FIVE is to pay a non-refundable deposit of KD200 to the Senior Bursar.
STEP SIX is to return to the Senior Registrar for the final confirmation of admission and allocation to a Tutor Group (TG).
