Lower Department Coordinator (Years R-2)

After a career in business and adult training, Marcus decided to pursue his first love, teaching. A graduate of the Open University, Marcus gained his PGCE with QTS from the University of Buckingham, and taught in England and Spain before coming to Kuwait in 2005. He has a Diploma in European Humanities and enjoys travelling and immersing himself in different cultures. Marcus took a year off in 1992 and built his own house, which is still standing. He is also an award-winning photographer.

Miss Jackie Shropshire BEd
Junior Department Coordinator (Years 3-5)

Jackie graduated from the University of Reading with a degree in Primary Education. She started her teaching career in England and first moved to Kuwait in 1985. During her career she has taught a variety of age groups from Year 2 to Year 9. Jackie joined BSK in 1996 and has since held the posts of Assistant Mathematics Coordinator and Assistant Junior Department Coordinator. Her personal interests include walking, reading, travelling and playing golf.

Ms Estelle Jones BA(Hons) QTS
Middle Department Coordinator (Years 6-8)

Estelle graduated with Qualified Teacher Status in English from the University of Lancaster. After five years teaching English Literature and Language, she moved with her husband and children to join The British School of Kuwait in 2009. Having taught English from Year 6 to 13 and worked as Assistant Department Coordinator, Estelle became Middle Department Coordinator in 2011. Her personal interests include travelling, reading and spending time with her family.

Mr John Lambert BSc(Hons) MBA PGCE
Assistant Secondary Head Teacher
Upper Department Coordinator (Years 9-11)

John graduated in Applied Biology from the University of Hull and obtained his PGCE at the University of Cambridge. His MBA is in Educational Management. John moved to Kuwait in 1995 and joined BSK as Biology Coordinator in 2005, becoming Upper Department Coordinator in 2006 and Assistant Head Teacher in 2012. A major strand of John's work is to develop educational and vocational links within Kuwait and internationally. His personal interests include running and current affairs.

Ms Emma Bowie BA(Hons) PGCE
Sixth Form Coordinator (Years 12-13)

Emma graduated with a degree in English Studies from the University of Northumbria and then obtained her PGCE in Secondary English from St Mary's College, Durham University. Before moving into international education, she taught at a renowned independent school in the north-east of England. Emma moved to Kuwait in 2005 and joined BSK as Assistant English Coordinator, becoming English Coordinator in 2008 and Sixth Form Coordinator in 2012. Her personal interests include travel, literature and the theatre.
